We had an amazing day this past Saturday, June 8th at our 2nd annual Touch a Truck event! Amy Nostrom organized the trucks/ for the kids to enjoy. She got a lawn mower, tractor, semi, Autodrive Sports Park Raceway "monster" truck, firetruck, 3 different police cars, and an ambulance for kids to enjoy. We passed out BINGO cards for each kid to fill with stickers and bring back to us (located at the Three Rivers Kringla table) to get some bubbles and candy!

We had over 100 kids attend this year's Touch a Truck! It was so fun watching kids explore the different vehicles. Some were testing out the horns and talking on the PA systems.

Amy asked us last year if she could organize a Touch a Truck event for the Humboldt Farmer's Market! Of course we said yes. Both years we asked her if there's anything we needed to help her out. She told us she had it under control and we happily stayed out of her way! We came up with the BINGO cards to make it even more interactive for the kids attending and have an excuse to hand out candy and bubbles!

We're blown away by the turnout of this year's Touch a Truck event. Honestly we've been blown away every market by the community's support of our farmers market! We couldn't do this without people like Amy or any of our sponsors. Fort Dodge Freeze Dried was the sponsor this week!

We were jazzed to have the Ardys Mae coffee and dessert truck at the market this week! I was so excited to be able to walk over and get a latte immediately after getting everyone in place and our tables set up. They had mini donuts being freshly made (SO GOOD on a chilly morning), other drink options, and ice cream treats from Dariette!

Since all of the kid fun was in the street we decided to pull all of the vendors out of the plaza and line the North side of the street for easier shopping. As usual, we had vendors East of the statue on the sidewalk. Joe Hadar and Kent Mick set up to the West of the statue to play live music and had books for a free will donation.

Last year we were rained out and forced to reshedule to August. When we woke up early Saturday it was storming. Luckily, the rain passed before 7 (when vendors were setting up) leaving us with a chilly breeze and the sun popped out around 9am. It was the perfect weather for our food vendors. We could not have gotten luckier when it came to weather this year.

We'll see you at the next market Saturday, June 22nd! Located at the Parley Finch Plaza, 600 block Sumner Ave., Humboldt, IA
8am-12pm
Until then stay safe, be kind and we'll talk soon!
