For real this time...

When we first tried to have this event Mother Nature had other plans. This time there was barely a cloud in the sky! It was a hot, sunny day; perfect August day for this event. Plus, the hydrangeas around the plaza statue were in their PRIME!

Amy Nostrom approached us earlier this year asking if we wanted to have a Touch a Truck event at the Humboldt Farmer's Market. Of course we said yes! Amy was awesome enough to get the trucks and other vehicles lined up for the event. It was such a great idea and we're so thankful for her. This is definitely something we want to make an annual thing!
The morning started slow and peaceful before the trucks and other vehicles were in place. By 10am everything was ready for all the kiddos, and kiddos of all ages showed up! Every vehicle had a sticker to fill out the Touch a Truck BINGO cards, found at the Humboldt Farmer's Market table under the canopy with Three Rivers Kringla and 2View Photo&Design. We had lemonade and bubbles available as rewards for filling out the BINGO cards.

A bonus fun thing that joined our market was the State Historical Society of Iowa's Mobile Museum! The large bus fit right in with the other large vehicles for kids to see. If you want to learn more about the Mobile Museum click here.
THIS WEEK'S VENDORS:
We had 10 vendors this week offering a variety of products to shop from! Of course produce is always a hit at the market and the first to sell out. Listed below set up from East to West.

In addition to our vendors we saw some of the downtown retailers bring out some displays for our market goers to have even more shopping opportunities while they were downtown! You can see all of them in the background of the photos. Our goal with the Humboldt Farmer's Market is to bring the community together, including local/downtown businesses. We want everyone to benefit! It's nice to see downtown retailers taking advantage of the extra business and adding to our day!

I'm going to be real honest, most of Saturday was a complete blur! Once 10am came around we were constantly surrounded by people until the noon whistle rang out. Sammi and I (Kelsey) organize and sell at the Humboldt Farmer's Market. We keep our tables next to the Humboldt Farmer's Market table, so we can tackle the chaos together. It's good chaos, but chaos nonetheless (see photo below). I love how our market has grown over the season, both in vendors and crowds. I am a little sad that we haven't had time to talk to every vendor before they leave, but I'm happy that's our biggest problem.
Thank you to everyone who comes downtown to support the Humboldt Farmer's Market and everyone who volunteers their time to make it happen!

Next Farmer's Market is August 26th! Celebrate back to school with us Saturday, August 26th, 8am-12pm. We'll have our vendors set up on the 600 block Sumner Ave., a kid's activity, and more!
If you'd like to become a vendor click here or email us at HumboldtFarmersMarket@gmail.com!
Until then stay safe, be kind and we'll talk soon!
