Another Beautiful Saturday Downtown Humboldt, IA

We had the best weather last Saturday, August 22nd! It's crazy to think this season is almost over. We had a chilly start to our morning and until the last hour, when humidity rose with the heat, it was a perfect sunny day with a slight breeze. Last weekend was the end of the Iowa State Fair and everyone started school this week! We usually expect this time of year to slow down as everyone gets busy. It may have been slower, but it was a great day to be set up and selling. We had enough vendors attending to fill up the north side of the street. It's great when the people who come down are willing and ready to shop. Thank you to our commmunity for supporting our local vendors!

Joe Hadar was able to come down and play the last couple hours of the market in front of Night Owl! He was solo this time with his guitar, microphone, and speaker. It really added to the lovely weather we had. Between songs he'll shout out vendors and any events going on in town. He's like our musical market crier. I guess the speaker works, but we may need to look into getting him a bell and fancy hat for his announcements!

We had two separate nonprofits set up. The Humboldt Public Library was set up to help raise money for a new A/C unit. You were able to donate in a $3, $5, or $10 bucket and pick a prize. They had a wide variety of prizes to choose from. The other nonprofit who set up has been to a few markets is the Humota Theater! They've been kind enough to provide some coloring activities for kids along with selling shaved ice, popcorn, and their custom merch. Both nonprofits are important parts of our community. If you're able to donate the library and theater would greatly appreciate it!

We've been seeing more produce towards the end of the season and have even had some people donate produce. Donated produce is set up under the Three Rivers Kringla canopy for free will donation. All donations go back towards the market. It feels like a lot of people have struggled with their gardens this year or at least have been delayed in producing.

August has a 5th Saturday, so don't let the extra week trick you. Our next market is always on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month May-September.
Our next market is on Saturday, September 12th!

We'll be doing a puzzle swap at our next market! If there are any puzzles you'd like to part with we'll take them in advance or you can bring them down day of the next market to swap with. All sizes, shapes, qty are welcomed! It'd be fun to get some kid puzzles in the mix, too. This has been an idea we've been wanting to do for a long time and finally able to give it a go.
Follow our Facebook for more details!

Until then stay safe, be kind and we'll talk soon!
