The Last Market of 2026

We are one week since our last Humboldt Farmers Market of 2026, September 26th. It was definitely a memorable one and not just because of the beer marys for free will donation in Night Owl Books! Somehow we lucked out all year on actual rain during our market. We had some sprinkling showers during a couple markets this year, but we had straight downpour last Saturday. Thankfully, no thunder or lightning, so we were able to have the market. There was probably an hour where the rain stopped. Then a chilly breeze joined us before the rain started again. Set up was soggy and a handful of vendors backed out because of the weather. The amount of vendors we ended up with felt a lot like our first year. Our great community still came down to support the dozen vendors who were able to set up!

Our sponsor was WMBF Logistics, LLC/Brett Johnson/Sammi's brother. It was his birthday and he wanted to do something fun to celebrate at the market. His first idea was bloody marys. liquor licensing wasn't in our favor on that. We took the idea to Connor at Night Owl Books. He was happy to have a beer mary station in his store from 10am-12pm. Brett brought all the supplies to set up inside the door. People got to build their own and add their beer of choice to the mix. All of the donations from the beer mary bar went towards the Humboldt Public Library Foundation. That raised $99 for them. Usually our free will donation activities to towards keeping the market going. We've had some amazing sponsors this year and all of our expenses are paid til next year, so we thought it'd be better to go towards the library. We really want for them to be able to get new air conditioning! If you're able to donate please contact Julie Larson at director@humboldtpubliclibrary.com.

Our vendors may have been limited this week, but we had a great variety to shop from! We even had a nonprofit set up with a kids' craft, Building Families Early Childhood Area. We had vendors set up near and under the business awnings east of the statue.

Our Vendors

I chose to leave by camera in the car, so I used by phone for photos last week. That meant I didn't take as many photos as I normally would. We still managed to have a good last market given the weather. Thank you to everyone who braved the weather.

Thank you to everyone for a fantastic 2026 season! We couldn't do it without our sponsors, community, and vendors for coming together to make our planning worthwhile. It gets bigger and better every year! We're excited for some time off from organizing for awhile. After the holidays and maybe a nap we'll get back into planning. Soon I'd like to make a post about some behind the scenes things from this year.

Next weekend, October 10th & 11th, Sammi & I (Three Rivers Kringla) plus some other familiar vendors will be set up at Pumpkins & Ponies at SpringVale Farm! We hope to see everyone there. If the current forecast prediction holds it'll be a BEAUTIFUL weekend!

As for the Humboldt Farmers Market: We'll be back next year! Our 2027 season will start Saturday, May 8th!

Until then stay safe, be kind and we'll talk soon!
