Last 2 Markets of 2024!

October 5th Market
October 5th Market

We did it! The 2024 Humboldt Farmer's Market season flew by! Thank you to everyone who has supported our market this year. We had no clue what to expect this year since it was only Sammi and my second season organizing the market. It's safe to say we've been mind blown by the growth our little market has seen from last year through this year! Last year we started with 5 vendors and this year we started with nearly 20.

Our last two markets were back to back weekends. Throughout the rest of the season we set up on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, but in October, the 2nd weekend is Pumpkins & Ponies at SpringVale Farm. Some of our vendors set up there and it's a huge community event we want to attend rather than "compete" with.

For the September 28th market I was unable to be there so April Kelley was nice enough to get some photos for us!

The last few markets have been slower. We've noticed that fair season into school starting our market tends to be slower. Even as our season winds down it's nice to see our market goers supporting our vendors!

All of our vendors work hard to be at each market! No matter what they're selling, every vendor invests of lot of time, energy, and money just to be at our market. The majority of our vendors work full time outside of their small businesses/side hustles. Shopping local at our market and supporting our local artisans means so much more to our vendors than any corporate store/website you could shop from. Plus, any food item is way tastier and fresher than most other options we have available locally.

Our last market, October 5th, was a chilly start in the low 50's and so, so windy! It took awhile to get up in temperature, but we did eventually get to the mid 80's by noon when we were all packing up. Going into Monday we'll just about see a frost. You know, an average fall weekend in Iowa.

We decided to bring some hot apple cider for this last market for free will donations. All donations going back towards the market. We were very thankful to have a hot cup to hold. The apple smell in the air really had us soaking up fall.

Now what? Our 2024 season is over, but we've already been planning for next year. We'll be taking a small, much needed, break from social media to get us through the holiday season.

For those who don't know, Sammi and I are Three Rivers Kringla, LLC. We took over organizing the Humboldt Farmer's Market when I moved back to the area, so we could be vendors at where our small business started 10 years ago. It's been crazy to have the amount of support we had, and continue to have, at the Humboldt Farmer's Market 10 years ago and now! Our hope is for our other vendors to get their start and be supported by their local community like we have in downtown Humboldt.

We will be doing another survey to get community feedback at the beginning of 2025. By April we will be taking vendor applications once again. If you've been a vendor before we ask you to apply again when we start posting about it in late March/early April.

The 2025 season starts Mother's Day Saturday, May 10th. Our 2025 season will again be the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in May-September! We'll be back in downtown Humboldt at the Parley Finch Plaza. We've missed our "usual" spot and are excited to be back! Before you react, we have special plans for some of our markets to be located at John Brown Park and the Humboldt Fairgrounds. We'll announce once those dates are set!

I'll keep saying it...we couldn't do it without our community supporting our vendors! With your continued support we're able to keep going and growing. We have a lot of grand plans for our little market. Thank you for believing in our hopes and dreams!

THANK YOU for everyone who's donated their time, energy, and money to make our market happen! It's a lot for the two of us, but it's so much easier with the help we've received! We do this to help ours and other small businesses get their start and grow.

Our goal with donations and money from sponsors into this next year is to invest in new and more signage! The ones I built and hand painted have served us well. We'll still use them, but we need signs (espeically the ones we place on the highways) that can be stuck in the ground and not blow over easily. We believe this goal is attainable with the help from our sponsors and community members. All the money we get for the Humboldt Farmer's Market is used for posters, signage, kids activities, and marketing.

Thank you again!

Until then stay safe, be kind and we'll talk soon!
