We had our 2nd market on Saturday, May 24th, of Memorial Day weekend. It was a cloudy, chilly day that didn't get much warmer than 55°. At least we had a dry, rain free day! Once again we had over 20 vendors (including Ardys Mae Coffee and Dessert trailer) and kids' activities provided by the Humboldt Area Arts Council and 2View Photo & Design, which started at 9am. It was a great turnout for a chilly morning on a holiday weekend!

Our sponsor was The Finch Block! A few doors West of our location you may have seen the 2 storefronts with cutie little birds on the windows, that's The Finch Block! Owners, Ann and Phil are dedicated to historical preservation and being community oriented within their spaces. They've done a lot of work to the building already, but the storefronts have a long ways to go before being finished. While they wait for more construction to begin they have been awesome to offer the space up as we may need for the Humboldt Farmer's Market. Both kids' activities were set up in the East storefront of The Finch Block. Their help and support of our market is greatly appreciated!!

It may not have felt like summer outside, but we welcomed it anyway with a summer themed photo booth! I'm a portrait photographer by trade, 2View Photo & Design (focusing on couples, kids and families). Each year I like to find a market in our schedule to do a photo booth. I always love watching kids interact with the props and see what looks they come up with. I've acquired a lot of fun sunglasses, leis, and cute inflatables. Hopefully any kids I may have missed had a parent snap a photo on their phone.
All photos I took can be downloaded once you click on your photo! Feel free to post online or print as you wish.
The Humboldt Area Arts Council brought 2 crafts for kids to choose from: paint pots for a flower or build a fairy garden. Every time I turned around there was at least 2 kids sitting at their table crafting away! They guessed at the end of the market about 30 kids participated.

Once again we had a great group of vendors selling local meat, baked goods, clothing, handmade decor, and more! I even got my chef's knife sharpened. It's awesome to have such a wide array of products offered at our local market!

We're so pleased with how the start of this season is kicking off! It's crazy to think that the next market will be June 14th already. As always, thank you for spending a bit of your Saturday with us in downtown Humboldt. As vendors, we always hope an event will be worth our time and our community continues to show up for us!
Next Humboldt Farmer's Market: ARTS FEST!!
Saturday, June 14th
8am-12pm

It's going to be a good one! We'll have kids' crafting stations (hosted by local businesses and organizations), a Kids' Makers Market (organized by Paxton/Humboldt Recreation Department, more info/apply here), and artists selling handmade work along with our awesome market vendors.
